Chico State University

Chico is home of the Chico State University, founded in 1887 and built on land donated by the Bidwells. The university is home to over 16,000 students, and offers over 400 undergraduate and graduate academic programs.

Centerville Coleman Museum

Come and explore beautiful Butte Creek Canyon! Drive on Honey Run- and Centerville Road and visit the Covered Bridge, the one-room Schoolhouse, the Centerville Powerhouse, the oldest still-running hydro-powerhouse in California, and the Colman Centerville Memorial Community Museum.

Chico Museum

Housed in the former Carnegie Library building in downtown Chico, the Chico Museum has hosted more than 90 exhibits celebrating the distinct heritage of Chico since it opened in February 1986. Exhibits change several times a year and include prestigious traveling exhibits as well as those created by the Museum focusing on local Chico and Butte County history.
